2010 Seed Selections

Last week I received the seeds I orders from two different companies. I was very impressed with the delivery time from both Wildseed Farms and Baker's Creek Heirloom Seeds. I made my order from Baker's Creek last Monday and received all the seeds I ordered plus a bonus packet by Wednesday! That was very fast service. The crazy thing to me was the little note they put inside the envelope that basically said "we're sorry this took so long." I realize that the note probably went to everyone who ordered seeds, but really the only way it could have gotten here any faster is through some sort of Star Trek teleporter! There is definitely no need to apologize for a 2 day turn around. I'm sure that this is the kind of attitude and work ethic that has earned them such a great reputation.

From Baker's Creek:
Many of these seeds are new to my garden. The Echinacea paradoxa is a true yellow coneflower that I believe is one of the plants used to hybridize many of the new fancy coneflower colors we see now.  I'm kind of excited to see the Tom Thumb lettuce which is a very small lettuce which grows to about 3-4 inches in size. I thought the kids would enjoy seeing them grow. I'm excited to add so many heirlooms to the mix this year. Hopefully, if I'm diligent, I can save the seed and reduce my seed budget for next year. The total cost from Baker's Creek was $36 after shipping and Wildseed farms was $14.95.

Into the garden we go, beam me up Scotty!

(Just in case it's necessary I am in no way affiliated with either of the companies above and paid for everything out of my pocket.)
